The Hawks are coming off back-to-back victories against programs mentioned in the National Association of Basketball Coaches' national poll – Saint Anselm took down No. 24 Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday before toppling Saint Thomas Aquinas, who is receiving votes, on Sunday.

Bridgeport has a 2-4 overall record, most recently snapping a four-game losing streak with a 76-69 victory at Post. Most recently, the Purple Knights posted a 24-4 record in their last season of competition in 2019-20 and were set to host the 2020 NCAA Division II East Region Championship before its cancellation.

Masks are required for all spectators, regardless of vaccination status, who plan on attending Wednesday's game in Bridgeport, Conn.

SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM

  • Saint Anselm overcame a deficit of 12 points in the game's final six minutes, stunning Saint Thomas Aquinas on Sunday by a 76-73 margin. Sophomore Matt Becker (Fairfield, Conn.) finished three assists shy of a triple-double, posting career-high marks in points (21), rebounds (15) and assists (seven).
  • Senior Miles Tention (Palo Alto, Calif.) had 20 points and three boards against the Spartans while classmate Chris Paul (Highland Mills, N.Y.) scored 15 points and pulled down eight caroms. Tention led the way for Saint Anselm with 15 points in the second half while Becker had 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the final 20 minutes alone.
  • Saint Anselm opened the year with a 40.9% performance from the free throw line, but made 16 of their 20 attempts on Sunday against Saint Thomas Aquinas. Tention leads the Hawks with seven make's on eight attempts from the charity stripe.
  • Saint Anselm connected on a season-high 10 triples against the Spartans. The Hawks achieved double-digits in three-point baskets on 10 occasions during the 2019-20 season – Saint Anselm hit 15 treys against Adelphi on Jan. 18, 2020.
  • Paul reached 1,000 career points in the December 2019 contest against Bridgeport, becoming just the 53rd student-athlete to reach that milestone. He currently has 1,480 career points and can become just the 15th student-athlete to reach 1,500 in a career at Saint Anselm.
  • The Hawks have made fewer than four three-point baskets in just two games since the start of the 2015-16 season.
  • Across his first four collegiate games, Becker ranks sixth in the country with 8.5 defensive rebounds per game.
