MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team played to a 3-3 tie against Stonehill College in the team's Northeast-10 Conference season opener on Friday.
The Hawks are now 3-0-1 on the young season with a 0-0-1 record in NE10 play. The Skyhawks go to 2-2-1 overall and 2-0-1 in conference contests. The squads matchup on Saturday, Nov. 13 from Sullivan

Kevin Ouellette (Arlington, Mass.) and
Anthony Iacullo (Barrington, Ill.) joined junior
Jack Murphy (Marshfield, Mass.) on the scoresheet for Saint Anselm. Senior co-captain
Trevor Hott (Idaho Falls, Idaho) recorded two assists for Saint Anselm.
Ouellette notched his first goal of the season at 10:58 of the opening frame as her redirected a point shot by Hott, giving the Hawks a 1-0 lead through 20 minutes of play.

Nick Howard (Burlington, Mass.), knotting the score at one.
Saint Anselm regained its lead as Iacullo fired a wrist shot by Skyhawks goaltender
John Day. Iacullo loaded his shot from the right face-off dot and beat Day on the far side five minutes after the Stonehill equalizer.
Andrew Gotts lit the lamp at 12:06 of the second period, tying the contest once again. Gotts drove down the left side and sent a wrister on Howard, who got some of the puck but not all of it.
Stonehill would go back-to-back, taking its first lead of the tilt at 12:12 of the third period as
Mike Seoane snapped a shot toward Howard but beat the junior netminder, giving the visitors their first lead of the night.
Murphy netted his first goal of the season at 15:46 when he sent a floater on goal, beating Day over his left shoulder which knotted the game at three.
Both teams had opportunities to score in the three-on-three overtime as
Max Pineo had a breakaway in the five-minute period but Howard shut down the scoring chance. Junior
Andrew Andary (Macomb, Mich.) had a near breakaway himself but he was caught by a defender at the top of the face-off circles. Stonehill fired six shots on goal in the overtime compared to just two for the Hawks.
Howard faced 18 shots in the tie, making 15 stops while Day made 44 saves on 47 shots on goal.
