MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College volleyball team returns to Northeast-10 Conference play on Tuesday, Oct. 12 when Southern New Hampshire comes to the Hilltop. The very next day, Saint Anselm heads to Saint Michael's for another Northeast-10 Conference match.
Saint Anselm improved to 11-4 on the season with a five-set victory over Bridgeport on Wednesday. Junior
Michelle Henwood (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) threw up a career-high 50 assists while classmates
Caroline Belmontez (San Diego, Calif.) and
Lauren Casey (Jefferson City, Mo.) were the team leaders on each side of the ball as Belmontez registered 27 digs and Casey fired 17 kills.

The Penmen posted a 3-1 win over Assumption in conference play on Tuesday, Oct. 5. With the win, SNHU brings both its overall record and conference record to .500 at 6-6 and 2-2.
Juliana Pacini led all players with 17 kills.
Dai Thawnghmung,
Ramona Fontaine, and
Chaira Di Valerio all posted double digit kills.
Sarah Montefameglio posted 14 digs as four other student-athletes were within three of the
match-high. Montefameglio threw up 48 assists in the win.
The Purple Knights fell to Saint Lawrence on Tuesday, Oct. 5 in straight sets in their non-conference finale.
Haley Stanton led the Purple Knights with five kills while
Sydney Krause threw up eight assists.
Aaliyah Huihui-Martinez was the Purple Knights defensive leader with nine digs. Saint Michael's falls to 1-6 on the year with a 0-3 record in conference play.
SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- Leading the offense is Casey and sophomore Audrey Simmons (North Hampton, N.H.). Casey has 137 total kills and is averaging 2.91 kills per set while Simmons has 116 kills.
- Henwood has 480 assists through 15 matches, averaging 9.80 per set which ranks fourth in the conference.
- Defensively, Belmontez is averaging 4.76 digs per set. She is also leading the conference in service aces, averaging 0.60 per set.
- Sophomore Audrey Wetjen (Henderson, Nev.) is averaging 0.94 blocks per set and has accumulated 45.0 for the season.
ALL-TIME vs. SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE, SAINT MICHAEL'S
- This will be the 58th meeting all-time between the Hawks and Penmen. Saint Anselm posted a 3-0 victory in a non-conference match on Sept. 21. The Hawks are 29-28 against the Penmen.
- It will be the 37th meeting between the Saint Anselm and Saint Michael's. The Hawks are 21-15 all-time. The Hawks have won each of the last four meetings including on Oct. 12, 2019, which was a 3-0 victory in the last meeting.
