MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey team will take on nationally-ranked Northeastern University on Wednesday, Oct. 12. The Huskies finished the 2020-21 season as the national runner-up, concluding its deepest Frozen Four run in program history.

The Hawks dropped a pair of contests last weekend to Quinnipiac, who was the eighth-ranked team nationally, by 4-3 and 5-0 scores. Sophomore
Claire Weber (Marshfield, Mass.) registered the first goal of her career in the 4-3 loss and then added her second goal of the game late in the second period.
The New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) Rookie of the Week, freshman
Tyra Turner (Andover, Minn.), registered an assist on all three Hawks goals. Junior
Allie Kelley (East Berne, N.Y.) stopped 40 shots on Friday and 41 on Saturday as Saint Anselm dropped to 1-2 on the season. After Wednesday's tilt with Northeastern, the Hawks head to Yale on Friday, Oct. 22.
The Huskies, ranked fifth in the USCHO Division I Women's Poll and sixth in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's Poll, fell to Boston University and Providence College over the weekend. Against BU,
Maureen Murphy found the twine on the power play in the second period as a part of three second-period power play goals in the contest.
Gwyneth Phillips made 24 saves in the loss to BU.
Aerin Frankel stopped 17 of 20 shots on goal in the loss to Providence, pushing the Huskies back to .500. Northeastern heads to the University of Maine on Friday, Oct. 16 in a Hockey East matchup.

SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- After downing Maine to open the season, the Hawks dropped both contests to Quinnipiac. After allowing a goal in the first period, Weber needed just over a minute to tie the game at one. The Bobcats took a 2-1 nearly through the second period but Weber struck again with 1:04 left in the second stanza. Junior Devin Porazinski (Parker, Colo.) added a goal late in the third period but there wasn't enough time for the Hawks to tie the contest again.
- Senior Kelly Golini (Tewksbury, Mass.) joins Porazinski and Weber with two goals each, accounting for all six of the Hawks goals through three games.
- Senior Erin Meyers (Saint Paul, Minn.) and Turner lead the team with three assists each. Sophomore Brinna Martin (St. Michael, Minn.), Golini, and freshman Madi Ressler (Brighton, Mich.) all have at least one assist this season.
- Kelley has posted at least 40 saves in her first three games in Hawks sweater. She is 1-2 overall with a 3.86 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage. Freshman Annabella Lalande (Plantanget, Ontario) made her collegiate debut in the second game against Quinnipiac, stopping four shots on goal.
- As a team, the Hawks are 1-9 on the power play while their opponents are 1-12 with the extra skater. Saint Anselm is averaging 22 blocked shots per game this season.
- The Hawks have three non-conference matchups before opening NEWHA play on Friday, Oct. 29 against Franklin Pierce.
SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN
- The Huskies posted a pair of shutout wins over Holy Cross to open the season and Hockey East play before falling last weekend to Boston University and Providence.
- Chloe Aurard leads the team in scoring with three goals. She is also tied for the team-lead with three assists. Katy Knoll and Skylar Irving have found the twine twice this season. Knoll is tied with Aurard for the team lead in helpers. Eight Huskies are responsible for 12 of their scores this season.
- Joining Aurard and Knoll is Megan Carter, who also has three assists. The team has 19 assists through four games, with 11 student-athletes receiving a point for their contributions.
- Frankel has started three games in goal for the Huskies. She is 2-1 with a 1.05 goals against average and a .945 save percentage. Phillips has made two appearances, drawing one start. She has a .923 save percentage and a 2.05 goals against to go with a 0-1 record.
- Northeastern is converting on the power play at 16.7% (3-18). They have held opponents to three power play goals on 17 opportunities.
- This will be the first non-conference contest of the season for the Huskies before returning to Hockey East play.
- Northeastern finished as the national runner-up in 2020-21, posting a 22-2-1 (.900) overall record after finishing Hockey East play with a commanding 17-1-1 record. At the NCAA Championship, the Huskies lost to No. 2-ranked Wisconsin in overtime, 2-1.
- Dave Flint, the Head Coach of Northeastern, started the women's ice hockey program at Saint Anselm. The team took the ice in Sullivan Arena for the first time in 2004-05 and racked up a dominant 88-15-2 overall record during his tenure.
- Flint was named the AHCA Division I Women's Ice Hockey Coach of the Year in 2020-21 and is a three-time recipient of Hockey East Coach of the Year plaudits.
ALL-TIME vs. NORTHEASTERN
- This will be the first meeting all-time between the two programs.
- Saint Anselm is 27-24-5 against current National Collegiate level competition, excluding current NEWHA members.
