The Hawks will exclusively play National Collegiate-level competition for the first time in program history in the 2021-22 season. Saint Anselm has qualified for the New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) Championship game in all three full season of league play, capturing the league championship in 2018-19. The Hawks posted a 16-14-3 record in the 2019-20 season, falling to Long Island University on Feb. 23, 2020 in the Championship game, 1-0. Saint Anselm opens NEWHA play on Friday, Oct. 29 when they host Franklin Pierce.
The Black Bears opened the season with a pair of contests at Quinnipiac on Sept. 24 and Sept. 25. Maine dropped both games by 3-2 and 5-1 scores. They open Hockey East (HEA) play on Friday, Oct. 15 against the University of Connecticut.
Fans attending the game at the Harold Alfond Sports Arena are expected to familiarize themselves with the University of Maine
spectator policy.
