Playing on Pink in the Rink weekend, the Hawks ended their two-game losing streak with Saturday's win as they improve to 13-8-1 on the year. Receiving votes in the USCHO.com Division III national poll, Colby falls to 9-2-2 on the 2019-20 campaign.

Meehan's goal, her 12th tally of the season, was put home off a pass from sophomore Kendra Currier (Middleton, Mass.) with under 30 seconds to go in the contest. Forcing the puck forward from the defensive zone, Currier was able to get the puck in deep. She later collected the puck behind the goal line and fed it back in front for a crashing Meehan to poke home.

The Mules controlled possession through the first 10 minutes of the opening period before sophomore Amanda Nylander (Hanover, Minn.) broke the scoreless drought at 14:54. First-year Marissa Agerter (Eagan, Minn.) dished a pass to junior Jayden Young (Norwood, N.Y.), who fired a shot in the slot which was stopped. Nylander grabbed the rebound and recorded the goal.

Lauren Klein of the Mules scored the equalizer at 6:55 of the second stanza to tie the game. Colby was not done in the period as they concluded with a 11-7 shots advantage.

Tied at one, with six minutes remaining, freshman goaltender Caroline Kukas (North Andover, Mass.) made two big stops to hold the tie. The Hawks followed by firing nine straight shots but each was denied by goaltender Savannah Shaw.

Both teams finished with 26 shots with the Hawks recording 13 in the third period. Meehan led the squad with eight face-off wins on 10 attempts. Kukas remains undefeated as she earned the victory, registering 25 saves. She improved to 5-0-1 in her first season. Kukas' counterpart, Shaw, posted 24 stops.

The Hawks return to Sullivan Arena on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. as they host another NESCAC opponent, Williams.
