MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College Department of Athletics announced that Brendan Emery and Lorie Cochran were selected as the November 2019 "Hawks Soar Higher" Award selections.

All-Time Award Recipients

Debuting in the Fall of 2017, the special award was created to allow the Department of Athletics to recognize individuals that are instrumental to the College's efforts to offer a first-class, transformational student-athlete experience. The awards are issued each month during the academic year to two individuals employed by the institution outside of athletics.

Recipients will be colleagues, faculty, staff or administrators who advocate for Saint Anselm student-athletes and go above and beyond in their contributions each day on the Hilltop.

Emery, who first came to Saint Anselm in November 2006 as a PC Specialist/Technician, assumed his current role as the Systems and Telecom Administrator in 2011. He handles the deployment, support and maintenance of a number of systems in use by Athletics staffers and student-athletes on a day-to-day basis.

Those systems include communications and other administrative databases that are critical to success, including from a recruiting and game-planning standpoint.

"I am very surprised and honored to be recognized with this award," said Emery. "I am happy to be a part of the student-athletes and the department's overall success."

Cochran originally came to Saint Anselm in August 1993, working at the Dana Center on campus. Presently, she is the Executive Assistant to Neil Levesque, the NHIOP Executive Director, while also serving as the Faculty Assistant to six members of the Politics Department.

She oversees numerous student employees and works with major news networks on a daily basis. Cochran works closely with the Athletics staff on many events that utilize the NHIOP space, including the Department's annual Athletics Hall of Fame.

"I am honored to be recognized by the Department of Athletics," said Cochran. "Working with students is why I have been a part of the Saint Anselm family for over 25 years. All of the ambassadors as well as the students in our politics department and NHIOP office are important to me and I continue to stay close to many of them after they graduate."
