ASA Miami tops women's tennis in exhibition

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saint Anselm College women's team took on ASA Miami, the seventh-ranked team in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rankings, in an exhibition match on Saturday, falling to the Silver Storm, 9-0, at Lake Cane Tennis Center.

ASA Miami won five of the six singles matches in straight sets. The lone three-setter came at No. 1 singles, where Jess Perkins battled from a set down to send her match against Lisa Khamassi to a super tiebreak. In the decider, however, Khamassi edged Perkins, 10-7, to finish off a 6-3, 6-7 (2-7), 10-7 victory.

The Silver Storm won the three doubles matches as well, dropping three games. Eleni Petromelis and Kayla Hodas won two games at No. 3 doubles, while Meghan Golden and Maikah Bulpitt got one at No. 2 doubles.

Saint Anselm's next match is slated for Wednesday, April 4 against Colby-Sawyer at home at 3:30 p.m.
