MANCHESTER, N.H. - Two Saint Anselm College employees were recognized on Wednesday for their outstanding service to the Anselmian community, receiving the January "Hawks Soar Higher" Awards. Individual presentations were made to Diane Duffield, the Assistant Registrar (Operations and Systems), and Kristina Wilson, a counselor in the Health Services office.
All-Time Award Recipients
Duffield is responsible for coordinating with the athletics office, running reports in partnership with the Information Technology staff to make sure that Saint Anselm student-athletes are eligible for competition. Her hard work ensures that every Hawks student-athlete is compliant with NCAA regulations.
After 17 years of service to Saint Anselm, Duffield will be joining her husband in retirement with plans to travel and relax as they choose.
"I thought it was extremely nice and I was very honored to know that my work was appreciated," remarked Duffield.
Wilson serves as a counselor in the Health Services office and is a strong advocate for the mental health of Saint Anselm student-athletes. One of her latest initiatives that she will be introducing to Hawks athletics is the "Bringing in the Bystander" campaign, a prevention program that emphasizes that everyone has a role in ending violence against women.
Her relationship with student-athletes is unique in that she works individually with those wanting to achieve their personal goals, including how to set them and how they want to define their styles of communication.
"[To receive this award] is quite an honor, especially with regard to what I do," said Wilson. "So much of it happens behind closed doors and to have someone pay attention to that and see it, I am very appreciative of that acknowledgement."
