MANCHESTER, N.H. – Paul Trabucco played all nine positions and Jon McQuarrie homered for the Saint Anselm College baseball team as the Hawks fell 5-1 to No. 1/5 Franklin Pierce in their season finale on Tuesday afternoon at Sullivan Park.

Trabucco played one inning at all nine spots in the field in his final collegiate game for Saint Anselm (8-35, 3-23 NE-10), while McQuarrie hit his second home run of the season. McQuarrie's homer was the lone run the Hawks got off Franklin Pierce (41-4, 22-2 NE-10) starter Paul Covelle.
Covelle went the distance for the Ravens, holding the Hawks to three hits and one walk with 16 strikeouts to improve to 8-1 on the season. Offensively, all nine batters had at least one hit for Franklin Pierce, which scored single runs in the second, fifth, sixth and seventh innings.
Franklin Pierce got on the board in the top of the second on a RBI double by Kyle Hood with two outs. The score remained 1-0 until Jay Jabs singled in a run after Justin Brock singled and stole second with one away in the fifth.
In the sixth, Christopher Stanford singled through the left side to score Matthew O'Herron following an errant throw on a bunt attempt to increase the Ravens' lead to 3-0. Franklin Pierce made it 4-0 in the seventh on Max DiTondo's two-out, RBI triple that landed just inside the foul line in the right-field corner.
McQuarrie's solo home run to lead off the bottom of the eighth got Saint Anselm on the board. Franklin Pierce got the run back in the top of the ninth on a solo shot off the bat of Jabs to right field off Trabucco.
Allan McQuarrie and Matthew Flynn each had one hit in the game with Flynn also reaching base on a walk.
Jonathan Dunn suffered the loss despite allowing three runs (one earned) in six innings. Autrey Gates and Trabucco each yielded one run, while Clayton Welch tossed a scoreless eighth with one strikeout.
The game was the last in a Saint Anselm uniform for Welch, Trabucco, Allan McQuarrie, Terrence Walsh, Ken Morrisino, Tyler Buck, Tom Hudon, and Seve Llanio.
