Men's tennis downed by Bentley in final home match of season

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's tennis team was swept by visiting Bentley University 9-0 in the team's final home match of the season on Wednesday afternoon at Saint Anselm Outdoor Tennis Courts.

Bentley (13-6, 6-3 NE-10) won the three doubles matches at a loss of seven games and won five of the six singles matches in straight sets. Brian Kavanagh won the first set of his match at No. 4 singles for Saint Anselm (3-11, 2-7 NE-10).

Kavanagh pulled out the first set of his match against Daniel Camacho at the fourth spot 7-5 but Camacho rallied to take the second 6-0. In the deciding tiebreak, Camacho edged Kavanagh 10-7.

The Falcons lost no more than five games in any of the other five singles matches. The closest doubles match of the day was the No. 3 doubles matchup that saw Bentley's Chase Rosa and Jerry Liang top Robert Patenaude and Alex Pearson 8-4.

Saint Anselm closes out its season at Merrimack on Saturday, April 23 with a noon match.
