MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team suffered its first setback of the season, falling 15-9 to Pace on Saturday afternoon at Grappone Stadium.

James Olsen led Saint Anselm (5-1, 3-1 NE-10) with three goals and three assists, while Xavier Quinn also registered a hat trick. Patrick Sweeney had a goal and two assists and Ben Warren and Alex Pacitti also found the back of the net.
Jake Stokes snagged five ground balls and caused three turnovers defensively, while Ryan Sullivan grabbed four ground balls and also caused three Pace giveaways.
Eleven different players scored for Pace (7-2, 3-1 NE-10) on the afternoon. Joshua Kreitler had a team-best four points on three goals and one assist, Peter Sharp scored twice and Anthony Gadaleta tallied a two goals and an assist.
The teams traded goals in the first quarter with Olsen twice putting Saint Anselm ahead. However, the Setters answered through Tyler Mittleman and Tyler Meigel to even the score at 2-2 after 15 minutes.
Pace raced out to a five-goal lead by tallying the first five goals of the second quarter. The Hawks grabbed one back on Olsen's third goal of the half with just one second remaining on the clock.
The Setters held the Hawks off the board in the third quarter and added two goals to their lead, as Kreitler and Sharp scored in the first half of the period.
The two teams split a 12-goal fourth quarter six goals apiece. Saint Anselm got within four, 9-5, with 10:25 remaining on goals by Sweeney and Quinn but Pace responded with the next three goals to take a seven-goal advantage. Quinn scored twice in the final 5:11 to complete his hat trick.
Lucas DeAngelo made seven saves on 22 shots faced for the Hawks, while Robert Beshlian stopped 13-of-22 shots for the Setters.
Saint Anselm outshot Pace 38-28, was successful on 12-of-13 clears, held a 25-21 advantage in ground balls and committed fewer turnovers (16 to 23) in the loss. The Setters won 17-of-27 faceoffs in the win.
The Hawks look to get back in the win column at Adelphi on Wednesday, April 6 at 4 p.m.
