GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Ninth-ranked Adelphi University scored twice in the first half and went on to defeat the Saint Anselm College men's soccer team 2-0 in Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday afternoon at Motamed Field.

Adelphi (12-1-1, 10-0-1 NE-10) netted twice in the span of a little more than 10 minutes in the opening half and held Saint Anselm (3-10-1, 2-8-1 NE-10) scoreless to remain unbeaten in conference play. Caelan Hueber set up the first goal and scored the second for the Panthers.
In the 25th minute, Federico De Oliveira played a one-two with Hueber at the top of the box and found the bottom-left corner to open the scoring with his second of the season.
Eleven minutes later, Hueber was played in by Joseph Sanchez and finished with his left foot to give Adelphi a 2-0 lead.
The Panthers outshot the Hawks 15-2 in the game. Emmet O'Callaghan and Ken Desmarais each had one shot for Saint Anselm.
Helio Meirelles Neto made six saves to keep Saint Anselm within touching distance. Three goalies played in the game for Adelphi with Spenser Powell improving to 12-1-1.
Saint Anselm hosts Merrimack in its final home game of the regular season on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 3 p.m.
