Gordon Runs Away From Men's Tennis, 7-2

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Sophomore Benji Page (Concord, Mass.) captured a singles victory, but the Saint Anselm College men's tennis team was handed a 7-2 defeat by Gordon College on Monday afternoon at the Saint Anselm Outdoor Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Saint Anselm trailed 2-0 following the first two doubles matches when sophomore Robert Patenaude (Augusta, Maine) and freshman Brian Madden (Manchester, N.H.) teamed up for an 8-0 blanking of Joe Daugherty and Caven Bell at No. 3 doubles.
  • The Scots then put the match away, however, with five straight singles wins before Page decisively took care of Bell at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-0.

UP NEXT

  • The Hawks return to action Friday, Sept. 18 at 3:30 p.m. when they play host to the College of the Holy Cross.
