MANCHESTER, N.H. – Freshman Daniel Kmetz (Hebron, Conn.) posted a singles victory in his first collegiate match, but the Saint Anselm College men's tennis team fell to the College of the Holy Cross, 8-1, Friday afternoon at the Saint Anselm Outdoor Tennis Courts.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Kmetz, who had only seen doubles action thus far in his young career, pulled out a 6-3, 3-6, 10-4 win at No. 4 singles against Charlie Volkwein.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks trailed 3-0 following doubles play and 6-0 after the first three singles matches before Kmetz earned Saint Anselm's only point of the day.
NOTES
- Saint Anselm was missing its top four players, who are down in Philadelphia, Pa. for the ITA East Regional Tournament.
