BURNT HILLS, N.Y. – Senior Kim Schubert (Norton, Mass.) netted her second career goal in as many games and freshman Corey Murray (Scituate, Mass.) added a late game-winner as the Saint Anselm College women's soccer team surged past Roberts Wesleyan College in a non-conference matchup at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School in suburban Albany, N.Y., Monday night.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Schubert, who scored her first career goal at Pace University this past Saturday afternoon, made it two straight with an unassisted tally in the first half Monday afternoon.
• Murray scored her second goal of the season and first since a 2-2 tie at Mercy College last month. It was also the first game-winning score of her collegiate career.
• Sophomore Alexis Elowitch (Portland, Maine) scored her first assist of the season on Murray's goal; it was also her first point since netting a goal in the Hawks' 2-0 win against Bentley on Sept. 22.
• Junior goalkeeper Cassie Quattropani (East Hartford, Conn.) collected a team-high three saves in the first half.
• Freshman Elise Bouchard (Huntingtown, Md.) picked up her second win of the year with a save over the final 45 minutes of action.
• Bella Mitrevski scored RWC's goal, while Redhawk goalkeeper Mary Kate Eckert posted a game-high five saves in the losing effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Roberts Wesleyan took control early and Mitrevski booted a long shot from the right side into the upper left corner to take the 1-0 lead just eight minutes into the opening frame.
• Schubert then cashed in with a response in the 30th minute, collecting a rebound in traffic near the top of the box off a Taylor Levy (Norton, Mass.) corner kick to send the game into halftime tied at 1-1.
• Murray then blasted the game-winner top shelf from the right 8-yard mark, receiving a pass from Elowitch at the 78:24 mark.
• The Saint Anselm defense then held on, holding the Redhawks to just one shot on goal in the final eleven minutes to seal the victory.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
• Saint Anselm led the final shot tally, 14-12, and put seven on-goal to the Redhawks' five.
• The Hawks earned seven corner kicks Monday, holding RWC to zero corner attempts.
NOTES
• Saint Anselm handed Roberts Wesleyan just its second loss on the year, dropping the Redhawks to 7-2-1 overall. The Hawks, meanwhile, improve to 6-4-1.
• The Hawks also keep its unbeaten series record intact at 2-0 all-time against RWC, beating the Redhawks in last season's inaugural matchup, 1-0, in overtime.

• Saint Anselm will continue its Hawk-heavy road swing with a Saturday afternoon matchup at Stonehill College. The Hawks knocked off the Skyhawks, 1-0, in the Catholic Cup consolation game back on September 5. Saint Anselm's next home matchup will be against American International College on Saturday, Oct. 17 in a 7 p.m. start on the turf of Grappone Stadium.
