MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior Christine Woods (Wilmington, Mass.) recorded a Senior Day singles victory, but the Saint Anselm College women's tennis team wrapped up its season with a 5-4 loss to American International College on Tuesday afternoon at the Carr Center.
The Hawks finish 2-10 on the season and in Northeast-10 play, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 4-8, 2-7 NE-10.
Woods posted a 6-1, 6-2 No. 5 singles win against Romane Wilmotte.
Sophomore Leah Fitzgerald (Bedford, N.H.) captured an 8-6 victory against Eleana Fulop in No. 4 singles action, while sophomore Courtney Russell (North Reading, Mass.) dispatched Jasmine Byrd, 8-1, in No. 6 singles.
Sophomores Kathryn Rindo (Lowell, Mass.) and Emily Barrett (Hopedale, Mass.) registered an 8-4 win in No. 3 doubles against Wilmotte and Byrd.
This marked the final match for seniors Woods and Katherine Morrissey (Sturbridge, Mass.).
