Men's Soccer Shutout at Assumption, 4-0

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Saint Anselm men's soccer team was tripped up on the road Saturday afternoon, falling to Northeast-10 foe Assumption, 4-0.

Assumption (2-7-1, 2-4-1 NE-10) scored four goals over a 10-minute span in the first half to surge to a lead it would never relinquish.

Saint Anselm's (3-7, 2-5 NE-10) offense managed just four shots total for the game, while the Greyhounds took 15 and put nine on-goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Stephen McLeod (Chelmsford, Mass.) gave up four goals and picked up four saves in 75 minutes of action. Freshman goalkeeper Helio Meirelles Neto (Ribeiro Preto, Brazil) saw his first action of the year, picking up one save in the final 15 minutes of the game.

The Hawks will return to action Tuesday, traveling to Rindge, N.H., for a matchup against Franklin Pierce. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. at Sodexo Field.
