MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior Alexandra Lawrence (N. Scituate, R.I.) and junior Katherine Morrissey (Sturbridge, Mass.) captured a No. 1 doubles victory, but the Saint Anselm College women's tennis team was handed an 8-1 defeat by Saint Michael's College on Wednesday afternoon at the Carr Center Tennis Courts.
The Hawks dip to 1-6 on the season, including 1-5 in Northeast-10 play. The Purple Knights, ranked eighth in the East region, improve to 7-3, 6-1 NE-10.
Lawrence and Morrissey took down Caroline Martin and Alex Dalton, 8-6.
The Hawks return to action Saturday, April 6 at 1 p.m. when they play host to the University of New Haven.
