RINDGE, N.H. – Eric Moriarty (Center Harbor, N.H.) made eight saves in goal for the Hawks, but that would not be enough as the Saint Anselm College men's soccer team fell to Franklin Pierce University, 1-0, Saturday afternoon.
The Hawks fall to 3-5-1 overall for the 2012 campaign, 3-2-0 in Northeast-10 play, while the Ravens improve to 6-2-0 overall and 4-1-0 in league play.
The only goal of the game was scored late in the second half at 81:07 when Gareth Dudney crossed the ball in front of the goal where it found Greg Giguere, who netted the game-winner.
Moriarty made eight saves including five in the first half, while Franklin Pierce goalkeeper Jake Wright made two to earn the win.
The Ravens outshot the Hawks 20-6.
The Hawks return to action Wednesday Oct. 3 as they play host to Southern New Hampshire University in a 7:30 p.m. contest under the lights at Grappone Stadium.
