MANCHESTER, N.H. – Freshman April Regan (Berlin, Conn.) captured a pair of points to lead the Saint Anselm College women's tennis team to a 5-4 victory against Franklin Pierce University on Tuesday afternoon at the Saint Anselm Outdoor Tennis Courts.
The Hawks win their third straight to improve to 6-3 on the season, as well as in Northeast-10 play, while the Ravens drop to 1-8, 1-7 NE-10.
Regan defeated Mariama Bonetti, 6-3, 6-3, in No. 5 singles and also teamed with senior Amanda Brahm (Marlborough, Conn.) to earn an 8-1 victory in No. 2 doubles against Nikki Chalifoux and Melissa Cohen.
Junior Alexandra Lawrence (N. Scituate, R.I.) earned a No. 1 singles win against Natasha McCarthy, 6-1, 7-5.
In No. 3 singles, sophomore Katherine Morrissey (Sturbridge, Mass.) downed Cohen, 6-1, 6-1.
Junior Rachel Pedro (Weymouth, Mass.) dropped Bonetti in No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-4.
The Hawks return to action Wednesday, April 4 at 3 p.m. when they travel to take on Saint Michael's College.
