MANCHESTER, N.H. - Midfielder Jake Mallinson (Middletown, R.I.) scored each Hawks goal as the Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team was defeated by nationally-ranked Le Moyne College by a 9-2 score Saturday morning at Grappone Stadium.  With the defeat, the Hawks conclude the regular season with an 8-6 overall record alongside a 5-5 mark within the Northeast-10 Conference.  The Dolphins conclude their season undefeated both in overall (15-0) and in conference play (10-0).

While the Dolphins have already clinched a playoff berth, the Hawks await the results from Saturday's Northeast-10 Conference contests to determine their placement in the final standings.  The top six teams in the Northeast-10 Conference qualify for the postseason.

Prior to the contest, the Hawks honored their seven graduating senior student-athletes, including defenseman Travis Killeen (Pittsfield, Mass.), attack Tyler Steinetz (Sparta, N.J.), midfielder Michael DeVita (Annandale, N.J.), defenseman Steve Dion (East Lyme, Conn.), defenseman Burke Bero III (Pepperell, Mass.), attack Alex Vinciguerra (Canton, Mass.) and defenseman Michael McCarthy (Medford, Mass.).

The Dolphins never trailed in Saturday's contest, posting a 3-0 lead after one quarter via unassisted goals from Tyler Sennett, Nick Blumer and Andrew Chadderdon.  Following an infraction to the Dolphins' Josh Klepfer for slashing with 11:58 remaining in the second quarter, Mallinson converted his 12th goal of the season on a man-up opportunity for Saint Anselm with 11:33 remaining in the quarter.  Tyler Prevost and Chris Button added goals to conclude the half, granting the Dolphins a 5-1 halftime lead.

In the second half, the Hawks were outscored by a 4-to-1 cumulative margin.  Button, Prevost and Chatterdon each recorded their second goals of the game to open the third quarter and extending the Le Moyne lead to 8-1.  Mallinson converted an additional man-up opportunity for the Hawks, scoring his second of the game and 13th of the season.  Button recorded a hat trick with his fourth quarter goal, the lone strike in the final stanza of regulation time.

Hawks goaltender Jonathon O'Reilly (Plano, Texas) dropped his fifth-straight game in net for Saint Anselm, allowing nine goals on 14 shots on net.  Netminder Jeff White allowed only two Hawks goals, both to Mallinson, while turning aside 11 Saint Anselm shots on goal in the victory, his 15th of the season.
