MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior Liam Concannon (Boston, Mass.) and juniors Joseph Zucchi (Methuen, Mass.), William Condon (Mansfield, Mass.) and Michael Hanna (Southborough, Mass.) each earned a pair of points as the Saint Anselm College men's tennis team recorded a 7-2 victory against American International College on Saturday afternoon at the Carr Center.
The Hawks improve to 2-6, including 1-6 in Northeast-10 play, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 0-5, 0-5 NE-10.
Zucchi and Condon defeated Nick Lyon and Derek Alves, 8-4, in No. 2 doubles action, while the combination of Hanna and Concannon dispatched Jason Popek and Chandler Long, 8-0, in No. 3 doubles.
Senior Alex Schultheis (Cranston, R.I.) beat Jakub Simicek in No. 2 singles action, 6-2, 6-0. Zucchi downed Lyon, 6-1, 6-0 in No. 3 singles, while Condon defeated Alves, 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) in No. 4 singles. Hanna took care of Popek, 6-0, 6-0 in No. 5 singles, while Concannon blanked Long by the same score in No. 6 singles.
The Hawks return to action Tuesday, April 3 at 2:30 p.m. when they play host to Franklin Pierce University.
