Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Hawks Downed By Pioneers

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. - Despite an unassisted goal by Maximillian Glebocki (Wilbraham, Mass) late in the first half, the Saint Anselm College men's soccer team fell to the Pioneers of C.W. Post by a 6-1 score in a non-conference tilt Thursday evening.  The Hawks collect their first loss of the 2011 campaign, falling to 0-1 on the young season.  The Pioneers improve to 1-0 with their first victory of the year.

Eivind Austboe and Cemil Turan would each score two goals against the Hawks, with Eirik Bjoernoe and Jonathon Watkin adding tallies to round out the scoring for C.W. Post.  Austboe's first goal of the game proved to be the game-winning goal, as his marker elevated the Pioneers to a 2-0 score at 13:54 in the first half.

Glebocki's goal at 34:06 of the first half would cut the C.W. Post advantage to 3-1 exiting the first half of play, but three unanswered goals in the second half, including three goals within 2:47, closed out the scoring for both sides.

The Hawks return to action tomorrow morning as they will face off against Molloy in an 11:00 a.m. tilt in Rockville Centre, N.Y.
