Hawks Hold On for a 67-66 Win over Bentley; Baudinet tops all scorers with 29 points

Manchester, NH (February 8) -  Thomas Baudinet (Watertown, CT) put on a shooting exhibition as he scored 15 points in the first half and a game high 29 total points as the Hawks defeated Bentley 67-66 in front of a packed house in Stoutenburgh Arena.

Allen Harris (Roslindale, MA) hit a jumper to break a 58-58 tie at 6:40. The Hawks took the lead and then both teams exchanged baskets until Jack Keough (Owego, NY) extended the lead to 65-62 at 1:46.  Bentley answered right back with a 2 point basket, giving the Hawks a thin 1 point advantage at 1:30.  Harris hit a jumper in the lane at 1:20 taking the score to 67-64.

The Falcons were within 1 point with 56 seconds remaining when Bentley's Brian Tracey (Bow Mar, CO) hit two free throws.  Saint Anselm took possession and ran the clock down to 27 seconds when Baudinet's shot missed the mark, giving the Falcons possession with  26 seconds remaining.  The Hawks played excellent defense and with 3 seconds left on the clock, Tom Dowling (Rockville Center, NY), put up a 12 footer under great defensive pressure, but it missed the mark and Harris snatched down the rebound to come away with the win.

The Hawks go to 17- 5 overall; 13-5 in the NE-10. Saint Anselm is in a three- way tie for second in the NE-10 with Stonehill and American International.  Saint Anselm is on the road against Franklin Pierce on Saturday, February 12 and return home on the 16th against Stonehill.
