Hawks Drop Senior Day Season-Finale 3-0


MANCHESTER, N.H. -
Holland McNabb (Huntington Beach, Calif.) recorded a team-high .353 hitting percentage, but the Saint Anselm College volleyball team fell to the Setters of Pace University by a 3-0 score (25-18, 25-19, 25-21) Saturday afternoon at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.  The Hawks conclude their season with an 8-18 overall record and a 3-12 Northeast-10 Conference record.  The Setters advance to the Northeast-10 Conference post-season with a 19-9 overall record and a 9-5 conference record.

Charlotte Tencza (Greenfield, Mass.) led the team with 11 kills and 18 digs to her credit.  Natalie Steinwart (Aurora, Ill.) tallied 34 assists in the contest while also contributing nine digs.  Lauren Ross (Dracut, Mass.) posted eight kills to rank second on the team to Tencza.  Rachel Flaherty (Cold Spring, N.Y.) chipped in six digs and recorded the Hawks lone service ace of the afternoon.

For the second-straight match, Shannon Douglas (Rochester, N.H.) contributed off of the bench, recording four kills and three digs.  Margaret Tereschuk (Mission Viejo, Calif.) posted 14 total digs, including nine in the last set.  Kyla Gustavson (Nashua, N.H.) also posted five kills in two sets of action on the afternoon.

For the Setters, Nora Rugova led the team with 12 kills and a .324 hitting percentage.  Elyse Rowland led Pace defensively with 19 digs while Shea Hansen contributed 25 assists in the winning effort.
