Easton, Mass. (September 25) -- On a sunny
Saturday afternoon at W.B. Mason Stadium, the Saint Anselm field
hockey team dropped a 4-0 final to No. 9 ranked Stonehill in
Northeast-10 Conference action. The Hawks fall to 0-5 overall with
the loss.
Stonehill's Kathryn Nelson scored twice in the
first half on unassisted goals for a 2-0 Stonehill halftime lead as
Saint Anselm netminder Lindsay MacDonald (Dedham,
Mass.) made two saves in the half. Lindsey
Pinkham scored early in the second to extend the lead to
3-0 before Nelson completed the hat trick to account for the 4-0
final.
MacDonald finished the game with 10 saves in her first start of
the season, while Courtney Osier had a pair of
saves for the Skyhawks.
Saint Anselm is back in action on Tuesday, September 28th as the
Hawks travel to Franklin Pierce for a 7 p.m. start at Sodexho
Field.
