Manchester, N.H. (September 11) -- Junior
Christopher Powers (Haverhill, Mass.) finished in
10th place overall in a time of 27:57 to help lead Saint Anselm to
a second-place finish at the 29th Annual Shacklette Invitational on
Saturday afternoon. Bentley University claimed the team title.
Powers was the top Hawk runner, while Bentley's Rob Dextradeur
won the event in a time of 26:58. Freshman Kevin
Soucy finished 13th for the Hawks in 28:12, followed by
senior Drew Matthews (Madison, Conn.) in 16th in a
time of 28:26. Junior John Surabian (Saugus,
Mass.) was 20th in 28:51, followed by freshman
Michael Musso in 36th in 29:56 to close out the
scoring for Saint Anselm.
Saint Anselm is back in action on Friday, September 17th as the
Hawks travel to South Bend, Indiana for the Notre Dame National
Catholic Invitational. The men's race is slated to begin at 5
p.m.
