Manchester, N.H. (November 2) -- In the 2010 home finale, the Saint Anselm field hockey team dropped a 2-0 final to visiting Franklin Pierce on Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 play. Saint Anselm falls to 2-12 overall and 2-6 in the league with the loss.
Megan Bird tallied an unassisted goal late in the first half to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead, her first goal of the season. Shots were even in the half at 7-7.
In the second half, Tia Levins notched her team-leading 10th goal of the year off a pass from Kayla Simeone to help push the visitors out to the 2-0 advantage. Saint Anselm was unable to get on the board as the Ravens held on for the 2-0 final.
Sophomore Lindsay MacDonald (Dedham, Mass.) made eight saves in the loss, while Brittany Nyzio turned aside seven shots in the win.
Saint Anselm returns to action on Saturday, November 6th as the team travels to Merrimack for a 7 p.m. start.
