Hawks Compete at 2010 New England Championships

Boston, Mass. (October 9) -- The Saint Anselm men's cross country team placed 43rd out of 47 teams overall at the 2010 New England Cross Country Championships, held at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. The Hawks were seventh out of the Northeast-10 participants.

The Hawks were led by senior Drew Matthews (Madison, Conn.) in 183rd as he ran a personal-best 26:55. Matthews was followed by John Surabian (Saugus, Mass.) in 254th place in a time of 27:49, running a 5:39 pace. Kevin Soucey (Windham, N.H.) was 261st in 27:58, along with Christopher Powers (Haverhill, Mass.) in 28:10. Powers ran a pace of 5:43 to place 269th.

Saint Anselm is back in action on Saturday, October 16th as the team travels to the Connecticut College Invitational.
