Hurley, Hawks Pick Up 5-0 Shutout Win Over Greyhounds

Manchester, N.H. (October 5) -- Led by a pair of goals from junior captain Caitlin Hurley (Cape Elizabeth, Maine), the Saint Anselm field hockey team defeated Assumption by a 5-0 final on Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action.

Hurley put the Hawks up just 5:59 into the opening half with her first goal of the season, assisted on by senior Sara Griffin (Derry, N.H.). The Hawks pushed the lead to 2-0 in the 14th minute as Kristina Katsikis (Hanover, Mass.) tallied her third goal of the season, off an assist from sophomore Nicole Guimond (Fairfield, Maine) for her first career point. Griffin scored in the 20th minute before Hurley converted a penalty corner attempt for her second goal at the 22:40 mark to make it a 4-0 score for the Hawks.

After a 4-0 halftime lead for the Hawks, junior Stephanie Chaisson (Methuen, Mass.) scored her second goal of the season off a great pass from freshman Elizabeth Sears (Danvers, Mass.).
