Brewster, Mass. (October, 18th) - - The Saint
Anselm golf team was in action today, participating in the first
round of the NEIGA Championship at Captain's Golf Course in
Brewster, Massachusetts. The team shot a 317, 29 over par, and are
currently in 15th place out of 37 teams. The Hawks are tied for
second place with Bentley among the eight Northeast-10 teams that
are participating.
Nicholas
Maccario (Bradford, Mass.) shot a four-over 76 to lead
the Hawks after the first round of play. He is tied for 16th in the
field of 182 competitors, and is in first place among the field of
Northeast-10 players. Brian Foley
(Worcester, Mass.) and Joseph
Fitzsimmons (Marshfield, Mass.) each shot an
eight-over 80, which places them tied for 65th in the field.
Tyler
Fay (Barrington, R.I.) and Emilio Bardini
(Salem, Mass.) each shot an 81, rounding out the Saint
Anselm Squad. Their mark puts them in 77th place after day one of
competition.
The team will be back in action tomorrow in the second round.
