Manchester, N.H. (January 16) -- Leading by as
many as 25 points in the second half, the Saint Anselm men's
basketball team cruised to a 74-53 win over Saint Rose on Saturday
at Stoutenburgh Gym. The Hawks hit 8-of-10 from three-point land,
shooting 80 percent from deep. The 80-percent shooting percentage
from three-point range is a Saint Anselm single-game team record.
In the first half, the Hawks hit four straight three-pointers
and held a 12-2 lead with 16:03 left after a trifecta from
senior Greg Vetrano (Andover, Mass.). Saint Rose
answered with a 16-5 run over the next 6:01 and briefly took an
18-17 midway through the first half, capped by a layup by leading
scorer Shea Bromirski. The Hawks, however, had
other ideas as a 24-7 run over the remainder of the period made it
a 41-25 halftime lead for Saint Anselm. The hosts were led by six
first-half threes, along with 55.6 percent overall shooting from
the field.
The lead never dipped below 11 points in the second half and
swelled to 20 with 14:38 left in the game as the Hawks cruised to
their third straight victory.

assists, while junior Pat Luptowski (Keene, N.H.)
and freshman Quinn Woodhouse (Gaylord, Mich.) each
had 14 points. Jack Keough (Owego, N.Y.) led all
rebounders with 12 boards in the win. Bromirski led the Golden
Knights with 16 points, along with 10 points from Brian
Hanuschak.
Saint Anselm is now 10-6 overall and 6-5 in the Northeast-10,
