Rockville Centre, N.Y. (March 21) - The Saint
Anselm softball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a
non-conference sweep of Molloy College on Saturday afternoon. The
Hawks took game one by a 7-2 final, followed by a 6-4 win in game
two.
In game one, the Hawks were led by Kayla McEachern
(Stoneham, Mass.), who was 3-for-3 with three runs batted
in and Jaclyn Giannino (Beverly, Mass.) with two
hits and three runs scored. Megan Lemire (Worcester, Mass.) got the
win, going seven innings and giving up just two hits.
In the second game, the Hawks trailed 4-0 entering the sixth
before erupting before five runs in the sixth inning.
Katherine Theodorou (Glen Cove, N.Y.) was 3-for-4
with one run scored and one RBI, while McEachern and Liz
LeBrun (Rowley, Mass.) each had two hits. Britnee
O'Neill (Ashland, Mass.) threw 2.1 perfect innings of
relief for the win.
Saint Anselm is back in action on Sunday afternoon as the Hawks
take on Adelphi University in a doubleheader on Long Island.
