Waltham, Mass. (September 20) -- Despite a
17-save effort from junior netminder Riley Haddock
(Falmouth, Maine), the Saint Anselm field hockey team
dropped a 2-0 final to Bentley on Saturday afternoon in
Northeast-10 action.
Both Bentley goals came in the first half as Abbie
DeMusis notched her fourth score of the year at the 19:26
mark for a 1-0 edge. The Falcons added another at 26:43 as
Courtney Bartlett tallied her fourth goal of the
season.
Alyssa Sliney made four saves in the game for
the Falcons for the shutout win. For the game, Bentley outshot
Saint Anselm by 30-8 margin, including 19-5 in the first half.
Saint Anselm falls to 3-4 overall and in league play, while
Bentley is now 4-5 overall and 4-3 in the Northeast-10. The Hawks
are back in action on Wednesday as the team travels to UMass Lowell
for a 7 p.m. start.
