Chicopee, Mass. (September 13) -- Sophomore
Annie Heaney (East Kingston, N.H.) scored 2:48
into overtime to lift Saint Anselm to a 2-1 overtime victory over
American International in Northeast-10 field hockey action. The
game was played at Elms College in Chicopee, Mass.
In a game where the Yellow Jackets outshot the Hawks by a
substantial 30-16 margin, the Hawks struck first when

left in regulation to send the game into the extra period.
In the extra period it was Heaney, the reigning NE-10 Player of
the Week, who took a pass from teammate Laura Urko
(Attleboro, Mass.) and scored her team-leading fourth
goal of the season for the win.
Junior goalie Riley Haddock (Falmouth, Maine)
made a season-high 17 saves, including two in overtime, to pick up
the win. Kim Steiner made nine stops and took the
loss.
