Manchester, N.H. (October 2) -- Saint Anselm
scored twice in the second half as the Hawks defeated Assumption by
a 2-0 final on Thursday afternoon in Northeast-10 field hockey
action. The win was the second 2-0 win over the Greyhounds for the
Hawks this season.
Maddie Cantarow (Norwood, Mass.) got the Hawks
on the board at the 48:51 in the second half, followed by a goal
from freshman Sara Sterling (Mansfield, Mass.) at
57:15.
Saint Anselm goalie Riley Haddock (Falmouth,
Maine) picked up the shutout win with a four-save effort,
while Jacque Dulong made five saves in the loss.
Saint Anselm improves to 4-6 overall and in league play, while
Assumption now sits at 2-10 overall and 1-9 in the Northeast-10.
The Hawks are back in action on Saturday afternoon as the team
travels to Southern Connecticut for a 1 p.m. start.
