Hawks Fall at Southern Connecticut, 3-1

New Haven, Conn. (October 4) -- Saint Anselm fell to Southern Connecticut by a 3-1 final on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 field hockey action in New Haven.

Laura Urko (Attleboro, Mass.) gave the Hawks an early 1-0 lead on an unassisted score at the 15:37 mark. That lead was shortlived though as Sara Winterbottom scored the equalizer at 19:53 to make it 1-1.

In the second half, Winterbottom scored the eventual game winner at 48:16 and Erin Paduda added a late insurance goal in the win.

Riley Haddock (Falmouth, Maine) had eight saves in the loss, while Lauren Zarrella made seven stops in the loss.

Saint Anselm is now 4-7 overall and in league play, while Southern Connecticut now sits at 7-6 overall and 7-4 in the Northeast-10.
