Manchester, N.H. (October 18) -- Saint Anselm
took an early 1-0 lead but couldn't hang on as the Hawks fell to
No. 6 ranked Bentley by a 2-1 final on Saturday afternoon in
Northeast-10 Conference field hockey action.
Senior Sam Rowe (Chelmsford, Mass.) got the
Hawks on the board at 27:46, off an assist from freshman
Sara Sterling (Mansfield, Mass.), for a 1-0 lead.
That lead stood past halftime and until 50:21, when the Falcons
got an unassisted score from Megan Ramah to tie
things at 1-1. Courtney Barlett scored the
eventual game winner at 53:46 on another unassisted score for a 2-1
advantage.
Riley Haddock (Falmouth, Maine) made five saves
in the loss, while Alyssa Sliney turned aside
three shots in the victory.
Saint Anselm falls to 6-10 overall and in league play, while
Bentley improves to 13-5 overall and 13-3 in the Northeast-10.
