North Andover, Mass. (October 14) -- Senior
Laura Urko (Attleboro, Mass.) scored two goals to
lift Saint Anselm to a 2-0 win over Merrimack at Warrior Field on
Tuesday afternoon.
Urko got the Hawks on the board just 8:03 into the game as she
scored her fifth goal of the season, which was assisted on
Morgan Seney (Bow, N.H.) off a penalty corner. The
assist was the first career point for Seney in her freshman season.
Urko added to the lead 11 minutes later with her sixth goal of
the season, this time assisted by junior Karrie Muma (N.
Falmouth, Mass.).
Junior Gina Viola (Marshfield, Mass.) made one
save in her first start of the season to pick up the shutout.
Jillian Lewis made five saves in the defeat.
Saint Anselm improves to 6-8 overall and in Northeast-10 play,
while Merrimack falls to 5-11 overall and 5-10 in the league. The
Hawks are back in action on Thursday afternoon as the team travels
to Saint Michael's for a 3:30 p.m. start in Colchester, Vt.
