Waltham, Mass. (October 14) -- Bentley struck
twice in the first half as the Falcons defeated Saint Anselm by a
2-1 final on Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 men's soccer action.
Harris Smriko scored just 5:57 into the game,
his seventh goal of the year, for the early 1-0 lead. That
lead was added to at the 27:28 mark as Jared
Joaquin notched his fifth goal of the season. Eric
Heuze assisted on both scores.
Joshua Rocco (North Reading, Mass.) scored his
second goal of the year at 52:07 to get the Hawks on the board.
Assisting was Justin Labonte (Pembroke, Mass.) and
Sam Lamptey (Worcester, Mass.), this week's NE-10
Player of the Week.
John Corridan (Holliston, Mass.) made four
saves in the loss, while Michael Nikiforov turned
aside two shots for the win. Saint Anselm is back in action on
Saturday, October 18th as the team travels to Le Moyne for a Noon
start in Syracuse, N.Y.
