Hartford, Conn. (January 19) -- The men's
hockey team dropped its fourth straight game, 3-0, to Trinity
Saturday afternoon in Hartford, Conn. The loss drops the Hawks to
5-5-3, 3-5-3 ECAC East/NESCAC, while the win improves Trinity to
7-4-2, 3-3-2 in league play.
After a scoreless first period, Trinity jumped on the board
early in the second period. Zachary Wissman (Guilford,
Vt.) scored shorthanded at the 2:11 mark, assisted by
Regnars Alksnis (Talsi, Latvia) and Chris
Diozzi (Belmont, Mass.). Trinity took the 1-0 lead into
the third frame.
Trinity added two more goals in the third period to polish off
the Hawks. Wissman scored his second goal of the game at the 7:32
mark, assisted by William Burns (Livonia, Mich.)
and Richard Hollstein (Pembroke, Mass.). Diozzi
added an empty netter at the 17:58 mark, assisted by goaltender,
Wesley Vesprini (Lexington, Mass.), to lift the
Bantams over the Hawks, 3-0.
Jason Zuck (Clifton, N.J.) made 33 saves in the
loss for Saint Anselm, while Vesprini made 25 saves for his second
shutout of the season.
The Hawks return to the ice Friday, January 25th, hosting
Middlebury at 7 p.m. at Sullivan Arena.
