Cambridge, Mass. (January 11) -- The women's
hockey team made it 11 straight wins Friday night with a 7-1 league
win over the MIT Engineers. The win is the team's 17th straight
ECAC East victory and 15th straight victory overall, a streak that
dates back to last season. The Hawks stand undefeated at 11-0-0,
7-0-0 ECAC East, while the Engineers fall to 0-7-0, 0-7-0 ECAC
East.
The Hawks jumped on the board first, as Kerri Aylward
(Hanover, Mass.)
scored her third goal of the season at the 7:10 mark, assisted by
Chelsea Fillingim
(Fairbanks,Alaska).
Kathleen Twomey
(Londonderry,N.H.)
made it 2-0 when she netted her seventh goal of the season at the
14:23 mark, assisted by Kelsey Johnson
(Byfield,Mass.).
The Hawks struck again under a minute later, when Arianna
Rigano
(Malden,Mass.)
scored at the 15:18 mark, assisted by Fillingim and Cindy
Lebel
(Greenville,Maine).
The Hawks took the 3-0 lead into the second period.
The Engineers cut the lead to 3-1 when Stephanie Brenman scored
at the 6:51 mark on the power play in the second, assisted by
Rachel Longley. The Hawks extended the lead to 4-1 thanks to
another Rigano goal at the 9:50 mark, assisted by Lebel.

pocketed her second goal of the season, as Fillingim picked up her
third assist of the night, giving the Hawks a 5-1 lead going into
the third period.
The Hawks netted two more goals in the third to polish off the
7-1 victory. Twomey scored her second goal of the game just 35
seconds into the period, while Kasey Cedorchuk
(Charlestown, Mass.)
scored her first goal of the season at the 13:18 mark, assisted by
Rigano and Johnson.
The Hawks return to action Tuesday, January 15th, as Saint
Michael's hosts the Hawks at 4:40 p.m. at Cairns Arena.
