Ravens Down Hawks in Quarterfinals

Rindge, N.H. (October 28) -- The Saint Anselm women's soccer season ended on Sunday afternoon as the Hawks fell to 17th-ranked Franklin Pierce by a 3-0 final in the quarterfinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.

The Ravens took a 1-0 lead with 9:21 left in the first half on a goal by Jenna Giardina and pushed the lead to 2-0 early in the second half as Gabriela Demoaner scored her 23rd goal of the season off an assist from Kelly Weygand. Sophomore Shona Franklin added another goal with 22:41 left for the 3-0 final.

The Hawks, under first-year head coach Tony Wallis, end the season at 9-8-3 overall, while the Ravens improve to 13-1-4 overall and advance to the conference semifinals.
