Garrett Callaghan Headshot

Garrett Callaghan

Head coach Harry Oringer announced the addition of Assistant Coach Garrett Callaghan to the baseball staff in July of 2025. Callaghan will assist the program with recruiting, hitting, and fielding, while also working in the Saint Anselm athletic department as an Event Management Coordinator.

Callaghan comes to the Hilltop after serving as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the baseball program at UMass Boston for the past two seasons. Callaghan’s primary responsibility was to work with the hitters and outfielders, while helping maintain the Beacons’ consistent presence in the Little East Conference Tournament.

Before his coaching career, Callaghan had a standout playing career at Ithaca College. Over five seasons with the Bombers, he secured his place in the program’s record books, ranking among the top ten all-time in doubles, home runs, slugging percentage, and runs batted in. His performance earned him ABCA Second Team All-American honors.

After four years at Ithaca, Callaghan spent the 2022 season at Rutgers University, where he hit .262 for the number one scoring offense in Division I and helped the Scarlet Knights reach the Big Ten Championship game for the first time in program history.

Callaghan has also contributed to player development for the New Jersey-based Baseball U and Zoned Sports travel teams.

Callaghan received his Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Corporate Accounting from Ithaca College in 2021 and went on to receive his Master’s degree in Financial Analysis from Rutgers University in 2022.
