Maddy Hooper begins her first season as an Assistant Coach for the Saint Anselm College women’s lacrosse program in February 2021.
Hooper came to the Hilltop after a four-year collegiate career at the University of Connecticut, helping her team to the semifinals of the 2015 and 2016 Big East Tournament. The goaltender was named to the Big East All-Academic Team in each of her four seasons with the Huskies.
Following her athletic career, Hooper was named Program Director for Harlem Lacrosse in Boston. For the past two years, Hooper supported middle school-aged girls lacrosse participants while also leading practice plans and other team-building activities. Hooper is also currently serving as the Goaltender Coach for the Laxachusetts Girls Lacrosse Club, teaching the sport of lacrosse to young girls.
Active in the community, Hooper has facilitated workshops at the One Love Foundation and was a founding member of Husky Adapted Sport, organizing and developing the first university-level adaptive sport in the Northeast. She has also participated with The First Tee of Connecticut, the Trefethen Evergreen Improvement Association and the 2-4-1 Sports Academy.
Hooper earned her bachelor’s degree in Sport Management at UConn in May 2018 and minored in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies.
