Shaun Bishop was named the Head Coach of the Saint Anselm College men's golf program in January 2020. Bishop enters his eighth season at the helm of the program entering the 2026-27 season.
The Hawks placed sixth at the 2025 Northeast 10 Conference Men's Golf Championship while sending one individual, sophomore Brandon Vitarisi, to NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regionals in the spring of 2026. During the 2024-25 season, Bishop guided senior Michael Papamechail to a fifth place finish at NE10 Championships as the Hawks placed fourth as a team. The Hawks then qualified as a team for the NCAA DII Atlantic/East Regionals where they placed 20th. Papamechail and Vitarisi were both named to the NE10 All-Conference Third Team following the conclusion of the season.
The 2023-24 campaign featured a third-place team finish for the Hawks at the NE10 Championship, followed by a withdrawal during the 2024 NCAA DII Atlantic/East Regional due to weather-related issues. Freshman Brady Warren was tabbed NE10 Co-Rookie of the Year and senior Robbie Forti was selected to the NE10 All-Conference First Team.
Bishop led senior Drew Semons to his third consecutive appearance at the NCAA DII Atlantic/East Regional appearance in the 2022-23 season, capped off by an NE10 All-Conference First Team nod for Semons. As a team, the Hawks placed seventh at the 2022 NE10 Championship.
The 2021-22 season was a historic one for the Hawks under Coach Bishop, as the team made their NCAA postseason debut, qualifying as a team for the NCAA DII Atlantic/East Regional hosted by Le Moyne College at the Ravenwood Country Club in Victor, N.Y. The Hawks ranked as high as eighth in the region during the regular season and placed fourth at the 2021 NE10 Championship. The squad ended its historic campaign with a 20th place finish at the regional tournament and junior Drew Semons picked up Second Team All-NE10 honors while senior James Henry was a Third Team All-League selection.
The 2020-21 season saw the Hawks place seventh at the NE10 Championship, the last conference championship to be held in the spring. Semons was the lone Hawk to qualify as an individual for the 2021 NCAA DII Atlantic/East Regional and was named to the NE10 All-Conference Second Team at the conclusion of the season.
Currently the Director of Golf & General Manager at Candia Woods Golf Links, the Hawks practice facility, Bishop directs all facets of the Hawks men's golf program. He is an accomplished amateur golfer and an established instructor in the Granite State.
Bishop is a Class-A PGA Member who played collegiate golf at Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C., a program that boasts 12 NCAA national championships in the sport. He also won two New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA) Class I-M-S championships and was a New Hampshire Golf Association State Junior Champion in 1997.
A 2003 graduate of Methodist, Bishop began his career as the Assistant Golf Professional at The Golf Club at Lansdowne in Lansdowne, Va. He returned to the Granite State in 2006, serving as the Head Golf Professional at Candia Woods before heading to The Oaks Golf Links in Somersworth, N.H. as the Director of Golf in 2010.
Shaun's brother, Tyler Bishop, is the former Head Coach of men's and women's golf at Franklin Pierce and his father, Ted Bishop, is a long-time golf professional in the state.
Bishop resides in Auburn, N.H. with his wife Tanya and his children, Jackson, Graham and Zoe.
