Renee Crawford is in her eighth season as the goalkeeper coach for the Saint Anselm College field hockey team in 2020.
Since joining the Hawks as an assistant coach, Saint Anselm has enjoyed success on the national level as evident by the program's annual top-10 rankings in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association polls. The Hawks have especially excelled defensively and in the goal as the Hawks were awarded an Northeast-10 Conference Goaltender of the Year award in 2016 and, most recently, set an NCAA Division II record with 20 shutouts in 2019.
Coming on board prior to the 2013 season, Crawford and the Hawks have won 98 games against just 42 losses, a winning percentage of 70%.
Crawford played four years of varsity field hockey and softball at Siena College. She played every single minute in the cage her senior year and was the 2009 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Saves Per Game Champion with 11.94 saves per game. Crawford was an NFHCA Academic All-American all four years of her career, as well as a four-time NEC and MAAC All-Academic Team selection.
Crawford lettered in varsity field hockey for four years and also played softball at Timberlane Regional High School in Plaistow, N.H. She led the Owls to the Class L state title game in three of her four seasons and was named the Class L Player of the Year after her senior campaign. She was selected to play in the U16 National Futures Tournament in Virginia Beach, Va., her junior season and also participated in the 2003 Junior Olympics.
She also serves as the College's Executive Director of Budget and Planning. In recognition of her dedication to helping Saint Anselm student-athletes, she was issued the Hawks Soar Higher award in November 2017.
Crawford, who graduated from Siena with a Bachelor's degree in business administration in May 2009 and a Master's degree in accounting in May 2010, currently resides in Bedford, N.H., with her husband, Tyler and twin daughters, Carly and Reese.
