Alyssa Scott is entering her third season as an Assistant Coach with the Saint Anselm College field hockey team in 2021.
In her first season as an Assistant Coach for the nationally-ranked Hawks, Saint Anselm logged a 20-3 overall record in 2019, setting an NCAA Division II record with 20 shutouts on the season. After claiming the team's third Northeast-10 Conference Regular Season Championship with a 13-1 mark against league foes, the Hawks also won their first-ever NE10 postseason title.
Saint Anselm advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championship game for the first time in team history, doing so after downing No. 2-ranked East Stroudsburg in the NCAA Semifinals in double-overtime. Against NE10 programs in conference, non-conference and postseason play, the Hawks owned an 18-1 record and outscored league foes by a 63-to-1 margin, thanks to a shot differential of 327-to-75.
Saint Anselm finished as the NCAA divisional leader in goals-against average (0.26), save percentage (0.870) and shutouts per game (0.87). The Hawks were ranked as high as third by the NFHCA in 2019, matching an all-time record.
In 2019, Scott was awarded a Tara VanDerveer Fund for the Advancement of Women in Coaching grant from the Women's Sports Foundation (WSF), representing Saint Anselm at the 40th Annual Salute to Women in Sports gala in New York City in mid-October.
Scott came to the Hilltop from Southern New Hampshire University where she recently capped a successful four-year playing career with the Penmen. Additionally, Scott has served as an assistant coach with Granite State Elite, Cave Girl Field Hockey and the USA Field Hockey Futures program.
She owns a Level I and Level II coaching certification from USA Field Hockey and worked as a summer strength and conditioning intern at Dynamic Strength and Conditioning in Nashua, N.H.
On the field, Scott made 55 appearances for the Penmen and served as a team captain during her final three seasons with the Hawks’ cross-town rivals. In 2018, Scott rebounded from an injury during her junior campaign and helped Southern New Hampshire set the team record for victories while qualifying for the squad's first-ever Northeast-10 Conference postseason tournament.
In the classroom, Scott earned placement on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern New Hampshire with a bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies and a minor in Business Administration.
