Kristina Wilson, a counselor in the Health Services office at Saint Anselm, is the January 2018 recipient of the "Hawks Soar Higher" award.

Wilson serves as a counselor in the Health Services office and is a strong advocate for the mental health of Saint Anselm student-athletes. One of her latest initiatives that she will be introducing to Hawks athletics is the “Bringing in the Bystander” campaign, a prevention program that emphasizes that everyone has a role in ending violence against women.

Her relationship with student-athletes is unique in that she works individually with those wanting to achieve their personal goals, including how to set them and how they want to define their styles of communication.

“[To receive this award] is quite an honor, especially with regard to what I do,” said Wilson. “So much of it happens behind closed doors and to have someone pay attention to that and see it, I am very appreciative of that acknowledgement.”
